Back Story of this Painting:
The day before my departure last time I visited Hong Kong, I got to wander around Sham Shui Po, an old district in Hong Kong, with my mom, aunt, and grandma. We were in search of fabric for me to take back to Utah for sewing projects. While strolling around town, I couldn’t shake the feeling of already missing the place, unsure of when I’d be back. This feeling changed how I saw everything, making even ordinary street scenes feel like they were glowing.
I remember waiting at the stoplight at a crossroad when this unassuming but mesmerizing green and white building caught my attention. To many, it’s just another old structure, but to me, it’s a reminder of the simple joy of being with my family and how much I love this place.
