Back Story of this Painting:
I visited Hydra, Greece back in 2022 on a chilly, rainy day. I wasn’t dressed for it. Just shorts and sandals. The island is very mountainous, with lots of stairs and no cars. The main way of getting around is by donkey.
As I explored the streets going up and down the steps, I noticed donkey waste and rainwater running through the alleys. My sandals were completely soaked, and I didn’t even want to think about what I was walking through, so I just kept going and focused on enjoying the beautiful views of the island.
