Fill in the Blank series

Ongoing project since 2019

Fill in the Blank addresses the upheaval between the pro-democracy protestors and police in Hong Kong. Mundane places became battle grounds drenches in violence, tear gas, and bullets. Instead of depicting events, this series of paintings explores the manticulation of memory, meaning, and perception of a place. The vivid juxtapositions of color translate the glory that once flourished, and contrasts the disturbing reality that continues to transpire. The emptiness of each space allows imagination and research to fill each picture with actions and emotions.
